Description of this activity

Snorkeling is an activity open to everyone, perfect for exploring the seabed without diving tanks. In Dakar, the areas around Ngor and the Plateau offer ideal conditions: calm waters, rocky seabeds, tropical fish, and scattered corals.

The guided outing allows participants to discover marine life while enjoying a safe and relaxing environment. Instructors lead the group to the most interesting spots, often near cliffs, reefs, or small coves.

It’s an experience that combines relaxation and discovery — perfect for families, beginners, or sea lovers. The session begins with a short briefing on basic movements and safety rules. The instructor provides the equipment (fins, mask, and snorkel) and accompanies the group from the beach or by boat.

The aquatic excursion lasts about two hours, at shallow depths (1 to 4 meters), in areas selected for their biodiversity: colorful fish, starfish, sea urchins, and small crustaceans. Breaks are planned for resting on the boat or sandy patches before returning to shore.

Nearby, many sites are worth visiting: the village and island of Ngor, the Mosque of the Divinity**, the Léopold Sédar Senghor Museum, Kermel Market, the Museum of Black Civilizations, and Independence Square in the Plateau area — making Dakar a unique destination that blends culture and seaside adventure.
