Toubab Dialaw is a peaceful stop along the Petite Côte, known for its beach lined with ochre cliffs and its artistic atmosphere. Paddleboarding or kayaking here offers a rare experience: gliding at the foot of the cliffs, following the coves carved by the tide, and enjoying a landscape that remains untouched. The sea, often calm in the morning, allows you to gently move away from the shore and admire the village perched on the hills. Take in the panoramic views of the cliffs and colorful houses, watch fishermen in their pirogues, and see children playing traditional wrestling on the sandy beach.
The session begins on Toubab Dialaw’s main beach, where an instructor introduces the equipment and safety instructions. After a short initiation, participants head out to sea for a ride lasting about two hours. The route follows the cliffs and extends to the nearby small coves, depending on the group’s level and the tide. Breaks are scheduled to rest, take photos, or simply admire the view of the red cliffs. The return to the beach is done calmly, often accompanied by a gentle ocean breeze.
After the excursion, several places are worth a visit: the Maison des Arts, known for its workshops and performances; the natural spring at the foot of the rocks; and the Mbaye Ndiaye Center, a residence for Senegalese and international artists.
