The surf trip in La Somone offers a deep immersion into the heart of Senegal’s Petite Côte, featuring surf sessions on a variety of waves, excursions through the protected lagoon, and encounters with rich, vibrant nature. Each morning, the local guide selects the optimal spot — from the soft sandy banks of La Somone to the more technical waves of neighboring beaches such as Toubab Dialaw, Pierre de Lisse, or Yène. For the more adventurous, the road trip extends to Ndayane, a fishing village and excellent progressive surf spot.
The program includes two sessions per day, alternating between technical improvement, advice on paddling, positioning, and wave reading, followed by free-surf time to put new skills into practice under varying conditions. In the afternoon, the focus shifts to exploring the lagoon: paddleboarding, birdwatching walks, swimming in the mangroves, observing local wildlife, and discovering the surrounding ecosystem. Breaks are spent under beach huts or at seaside restaurants, enjoying Senegalese specialties for lunch and sharing convivial moments with the local community.
Accommodation is provided in a surf camp or guest house just minutes from the surf spots, with a half-board plan and warm evenings around the fire. Activities include video analysis sessions, yoga for surfers, and group discussions about the day’s progress. The organization covers transfers between spots, equipment rental, and personalized coaching, with family and private group packages available upon request. Each session can also be filmed for technical feedback and personal keepsakes.
The ideal season runs from October to May, with the trip always tailored to the weather and the group’s technical level — ensuring both steady progression and maximum safety.
