A combined safari at the Fathala Reserve and the Popenguine Nature Reserve is an adventure that brings together wildlife observation, forest immersion, and the discovery of Senegal’s biodiversity. At Fathala, you will explore 6,000 hectares of forest in an open 4×4 or on foot, encountering giraffes, rhinoceroses, zebras, buffaloes, monkeys, and over 300 species of birds. You can also experience a “walk with the lions,” guided by experts, for a unique experience. Safaris are conducted early in the morning or late in the afternoon to enjoy the natural behavior of the animals and the best light.
At Popenguine, the circuit continues through a coastal and ornithological reserve, famous for its cliff landscapes, wild beaches, and marked trails for hiking and observing migratory birds. The site is ideal for a family or small group getaway. You will also discover the fishing village, its markets, and, depending on the season, the famous ecological festival.
These two combined stages offer the opportunity to enjoy a nature lunch between the two reserves, swimming or observation breaks, and interactions with local artisans and residents.
