Description of this activity

Experience the intensity, joy, and expression of African dances in Saly through a dynamic workshop open to all. Inspired by traditional West African dances and modern Senegalese styles, this workshop invites you to release your energy in a friendly setting, close to the beaches and artistic vibe of the Petite Côte. Whether you are a beginner or already passionate, this session immerses you in a rhythmic and deeply cultural universe.

The session begins with a structured warm-up: mobilizing the shoulders, pelvis, hips, and legs, grounding exercises, and breath activation. Next, you will learn several movements from West African traditions: • Sabar steps adapted for dance, • Mandingue sequences from Mali or Guinea, • expressive gestures inspired by rural ceremonies, • modern influences with an Afro-urban touch.

Learning is progressive: each movement is explained, repeated slowly, and then integrated into a simple, engaging group choreography. Throughout the session, the group’s energy builds, and the dance becomes a moment of sharing, joyful exertion, and creativity.

The session takes place in an open or semi-open space in Saly, often near the beach, providing a pleasant setting. The workshop may end with a souvenir video of the choreography if the group wishes.
