Description of this activity

Set off to discover Joal-Fadiouth and its famous shell island. Linked to Joal by a wooden footbridge, Fadiouth stands out for its ground covered in shells and its distinctive cultural heritage.

Accompanied by a local guide, you wander through the island’s alleys and discover the daily life of its inhabitants, the traditional buildings and the landscapes around the village. Depending on the option, the tour can also include the granaries on stilts and the shell cemetery, two iconic places of Fadiouth.

This excursion is ideal for couples, families and groups of friends who want to discover another side of Senegal, between heritage, traditions and natural landscapes. Tours can also be combined with a pirogue ride around Fadiouth.
