The surf trip at Pierre de Lisse is a 3 to 5 day stay on a rarely visited beach on the Petite Côte, with trips each morning to the best spot of the day: Pierre de Lisse, Toubab Dialaw, Yène or Somone. Local guide, transfers and bilingual assistance, from October to May.
Nature as the common thread
Where the Toubab Dialaw surf trip bets on culture, this one keeps nature in the foreground. Each morning, a weather analysis comes before the trips by minibus, pick-up or boat to the best spot: the unspoilt beach break of Pierre de Lisse, the left at Toubab Dialaw, the sandbank at Yène or the lagoon at Somone. Local guides adapt each session to the intensity, the swell and the group’s level: safety, advice on catching waves, video analysis and individual feedback. The programme has one or two supervised sessions a day.
Pierre de Lisse beach, rarely visited, lets you progress without pressure. Between sessions, the programme offers photography breaks, walks on the red cliffs, birdwatching expeditions in the dunes and nature or wellness workshops such as yoga. Lodging is in a peaceful surf camp or a quiet guesthouse. Equipment is included or hired, local assistance is bilingual, and family or group packs are possible, with an introduction for children on request. Photo souvenirs and video analysis are offered depending on the option. Full board is an option.
If you live in Dakar, it is a nature stay 40 km away, with no crowded beach. If you are visiting, it is the option for combining surfing, walking and photography on a coastline that is still unspoilt.
Pierre de Lisse and the nearby spots
Pierre de Lisse lies on the Petite Côte, near Toubab Dialaw, a lébou village about 40 km south of Dakar. The nearby spots are Yène, with its sandbank and lagoon, and Somone, with its lagoon classed as a nature reserve. For the regional setting, the Dakar region brings together the area’s activities.
Between two sessions
Bird lovers can extend to the Somone lagoon and birdwatching. The Popenguine Reserve offers a walk by the sea, and yoga helps you recover. Other surf lessons and courses offer other formats.
