Saly runs on the rhythm of families on holiday, and a family day in Saly at a private beach makes the most of it: a set-up area with sun loungers, supervised activities for children and lunch included. The little ones play, the parents rest, in a setting designed for all ages.
A lively day, busy children
You are welcomed into an area reserved for families: sun loungers for the parents, shaded or sunny spots as you prefer, a safe play area for the youngest, and direct access to the sea on a gentle, shallow shoreline. The morning is left for free activities: swimming, sandcastles, beach games, small craft workshops around bracelets, drawings and building, and supervised mini-games.
The afternoon alternates relaxation and supervised activities: mini-Olympics, sports challenges, sandcastle contests, small music sessions and team games suited to all ages. Activities adjust to the children’s age, with a quiet time for the youngest and a nap in the shade possible.
Lunch and organisation
The sun lounger, lunch and activities are included. Depending on the day, lunch offers grilled fish or chicken, Senegalese dishes reworked for families, suitable children’s menus and fresh salads. Drinks are extra, as an option. Some equipment (life jackets, games, parasols) is provided on site.
Bring a hat, sun cream and light clothing. Children must be watched at the water’s edge, even with activity leaders around. The beach is cleaned every day, and a shower area may be available depending on the venue.
Saly, the easy family escape
If you live in Dakar, Saly, about 80 km away, is a weekend by the water that needs neither a hotel nor a plan: you come for the day, have lunch, and head home. If you are staying as a family, the private beach saves you improvising between two days of excursions. The resort’s atmosphere is lively but family-friendly, on the Petite Côte, and its shoreline is sheltered.
Around Saly
To go further, the craft village is the place to bring home a souvenir, and the Somone lagoon can be explored by pirogue. Family days and amusement parks offer other ideas, and the Bandia Reserve makes a good day trip.
