Towed water sports in Saly are chosen one by one: flyboard and hoverboard for 30 minutes, wakeboard for 20 minutes, kneeboard for 15 minutes. Equipment is included, the instructor is qualified, and the activity suits all levels, from beginners to thrill-seekers.
Four sports, four durations
Four activities are brought together, all priced per person. The flyboard and hoverboard last 30 minutes: you hover above the water, lifted by the thrust of a jet ski. The wakeboard lasts 20 minutes: you stand on a board towed by a boat. The kneeboard lasts 15 minutes: you glide on your knees on a board. The sessions are short to concentrate the effort, and each lets you try it with no commitment.
Equipment is included: life jacket, board or hoverboard depending on the activity. A qualified instructor supervises the session, adapting it to your level. It is recommended that you can swim; the life jacket is provided, and the outings are supervised for safety.
To compare the sports at a glance: the flyboard and hoverboard rely on balance, the wakeboard on standing glide, the kneeboard on kneeling glide. With family or friends, you can try two or three in the same morning. Booking is advised, especially at weekends and in high season.
If you live in Dakar, this is half a day of activities in Saly that replaces the simple weekend beach. If you are staying in the resort, it is the menu of thrills, from the gentlest to the most spectacular.
Saly, the resort for gliding
Saly lies about 80 km south of Dakar, on the Petite Côte, around a sheltered coast. This is where the region’s water activities are concentrated, from the beach to the lagoon, from the calmest to the fastest.
Extending the gliding in Saly
For a change of machine, jet skiing lets you ride on your own. For a calmer moment, paddle and kayak stay close to the shore, and the Somone lagoon is about ten kilometres away.
