The 4×4 trip to the Pink Lake is a day of dunes and ocean shore around Lake Retba, some thirty kilometres north-east of Dakar. Transport, lunch, the visit and a guide are included, with pick-up from your home from the Petite Côte.

An all-inclusive day around the lake

The option is a day, priced per group, in a 4×4 vehicle: you alternate between sand dunes and the ocean shore, with the lake and its pink, orange or violet reflections as the common thread. Transport, lunch, the visit and the guide are included. Only drinks are at your own expense.

The advantage of this format is that there is nothing to organise: you are picked up, driven, guided and fed. Pick-up from your home is included from the Petite Côte (Saly, Somone, Ngaparou), and is possible from Dakar with a transport supplement. Cancellation is free up to 72 hours before; after that, the amount paid for the booking is not refunded.

If you live on the Petite Côte, it is an outing that makes a change from beach sand, to be enjoyed with family or friends, without driving. If you are staying in Saly or Somone, it is a way to reach the lake without renting a vehicle or negotiating a ride, with a guide explaining things on site.

The Pink Lake, between Sahel and Atlantic

The Pink Lake, or Lake Retba, sits where the Sahel meets the Atlantic. Barely three square kilometres in size, it is known as the finish line of the Paris-Dakar rally, and for its working life: salt harvesting, crafts, adventure sports.
