Flyboard and hoverboard in Saly teaches you to hover above the water thanks to the propulsion of a jet ski. The session lasts 30 minutes, a qualified instructor supervises the activity, the equipment and safety gear are provided, and beginners are welcome.
Hovering above the water
The flyboard and the hoverboard are two ways of standing above the sea, lifted by the propulsion of a jet ski. This is not a sport of gliding on the water, but a sport of balance and reflexes.
There is a single option: 30 minutes, priced per person. Supervision is provided by an instructor with a BPJEPS qualification (the French state diploma for sports instructors), who looks after beginners and the more experienced alike. The equipment (flyboard, hoverboard) and the safety gear are provided.
The activity is for those who want to test their balance and reflexes while discovering the extreme water sports of the Senegalese coast, alone or with friends. If you live in Dakar, it is a weekend session to add to a day in Saly. If you are visiting, it is the spectacular activity of your stay, which lends itself to photos and videos from the sand.
Saly, the watersports resort
Saly lies about 80 km south of Dakar, on the Petite Côte, around a sheltered coast. Born in the 1980s, the resort has made the sea its main asset, and this is where the motorised activities are concentrated: flyboard, jet ski, towed tube. The resort has more than 10,000 beds, spread across club hotels, private residences and villas, which explains the variety of activities offered on the beach. It was built in place of a former Serer fishing town, and attracts thousands of visitors each year in search of sun and turquoise sea.
Other water thrills in Saly
To carry on in the same vein, jet skiing lets you take the handlebars, and the other towed water sports offer other rides behind a boat. For a calmer day, the Somone lagoon and the Bandia Reserve are close by.
