The Raptor ride at the Pink Lake is a thrill-seeking outing on the tracks and dunes around Lake Retba, some thirty kilometres from Dakar. The vehicle, equipment and supervision are included, for 45 minutes or 1 hour, priced per person.
Two lengths, a vehicle provided
Two options are offered: a 45-minute outing and a 1-hour outing, both priced per person. The Raptor vehicle, the equipment and the supervision are included. Drinks are not included. Cancellation is free up to 72 hours before the outing.
The promise fits in a few words: big thrills on the tracks and dunes of the Pink Lake. Bring clothes that can stand the dust, sunglasses and sun cream.
The Pink Lake suits short formats well: at 45 minutes or 1 hour, the outing fits into a half day, before or after a visit to the lake, a meal or another activity.
If you live in Dakar, it is a rush of adrenaline thirty kilometres from the capital, taking just an hour of your schedule, to do with friends. If you are visiting, it is the shortest outing for getting an idea of the lake’s dunes and tracks, when you do not have a whole day.
The Pink Lake, between Sahel and Atlantic
The Pink Lake, or Lake Retba, lies thirty kilometres north-east of Dakar, where the Sahel meets the Atlantic. Barely three square kilometres in size, it changes colour with the time of day and the season, from pink to orange and violet. It is known as the finish line of the Paris-Dakar rally, and for its working life: salt harvesting, crafts, adventure sports. The Pink Lake page tells its story, and the Dakar Region gives the wider setting.
Other outings around the lake
To compare or extend, quad and buggy offer more engaged driving, a horse or camel ride slows the pace, and 4×4 tours let you spend a full day in the dunes.
