What we actually do
Que Faire Sénégal is an activity booking platform. You book with us; the activity is run by an independent local professional: a surf instructor in Ngor, a pirogue boatman in the Saloum, a cook in the Médina, a guide in Saint-Louis, a wellbeing practitioner in Saly. Our role is to put you in touch within a clear framework, and to remain your point of contact from the first message to your feedback afterwards.
Today, that means more than 400 activities across seven regions: Dakar, Thiès and the Petite Côte, Fatick and the Sine-Saloum, Saint-Louis, Louga, Casamance and Kédougou. They are grouped into seven broad categories, from water sports to wellbeing, by way of excursions, culture, workshops, family outings and transfers.
Our method: check before we publish
An activity does not appear on the site because it exists, but because it has passed our checks. For every listing, our team verifies the description, the duration, the meeting point, what is and is not included, the languages spoken, the professional’s experience and the photos. When a detail is missing, we call the professional back to complete it before publication.
We also apply a rule of transparency on money. The price shown is the price of the activity, with no fees added at checkout. When a site charges an official fee (entry to a national park, for example), the listing flags it separately: it is payable on site and not included in the price, and it is never marked up or discounted.
Finally, we film. Our video series Aythia Ñu Dem (“come on, let’s go”, in Wolof) regularly heads out into the field to meet an activity from the catalogue. It is our way of showing you what you are booking before you book it.
Who we work for
For those who live in Senegal. They are our starting point and our first audience. Families looking for weekend ideas, expats who want to get out of their neighbourhood, Senegalese people discovering their own country in a new way: the site is made for getaways close to home, everyday activities and the outings you have been putting off for months. The resident rate, up to 30% off, is our commitment to them.
For those who come to discover it. Travellers find here what they rarely find on their own: hand-picked activities, described without embellishment, with a clear price and a contact who answers. They pay 20% to secure their booking, and the balance is paid on site, on the day.
For leisure professionals. Many of the country’s excellent professionals do not always have a website, a payment solution or visibility beyond their own neighbourhood. We bring them customers, a polished presentation and a reliable booking framework. → Are you a professional?
What we believe in
The most useful tourism is the kind whose money stays local. The balance for every activity is paid directly, on the day, to the team that welcomes you.
A resident is a traveller like any other. They deserve the same great places, at a rate that reflects the fact that they live here.
Good advice is worth more than a promise. We would rather tell you that a boat trip is best in the morning, that a site is best visited outside the weekend, or that an activity is not suitable for young children, than sell you an experience that is not right for you.
