The lobster evening at the Somone takes place beside the lagoon: starter, grilled lobster and dessert, for two hours or more. The meeting point is the Somone lagoon; drinks are not included, and cancellation is free up to 72 hours before.
A dinner by the water
The principle is simple: an evening meal, with a starter, a grilled lobster and a dessert, eaten beside the Somone lagoon. The announced length is 2 hours, or more depending on the pace of the evening. Only drinks are not included: they are paid separately.
It is an evening at the table, not a sporting activity: the pace is that of the meal, so there is nothing to rush, and the lagoon serves as the setting. If you have an allergy or a special diet, tell us when you book, as for any seafood meal.
At the Somone lagoon
The start is at the lagoon, which serves as the setting. The Somone is a peaceful village about ten kilometres south of Saly, between ecotourism and a gentle seaside feel, which has stayed away from mass tourism. The Somone lagoon page describes the site, with its mangrove and its birds. If you live on the Petite Côte, it is a weekend evening that bypasses the big restaurants of Saly; if you are visiting, a good ending to a day on the beach or on a pirogue.
Around the evening
As the evening takes place at night, you can combine it with a daytime activity: a pirogue ride on the lagoon, birdwatching or an outing to Saly. Other evenings and gastronomy are in the category, and the Petite Côte gathers the rest of the region: about a hundred kilometres of coastline, beaches, lively markets, fishing villages and lagoons that shelter exceptional birdlife, at a deliberately slower pace than Dakar. Arrive a little before the agreed time to enjoy the lagoon before nightfall.
