The activity pack at the Pink Lake brings several outings together in a single booking: quad on the tracks and dunes, pirogue on the lake, horse or camel, sometimes a 4×4. Eight options, from a discovery pack to a day with lunch and pool, priced per person or at a flat rate.
Eight options, one pack logic
The lake lends itself to a varied programme: a quad tour on the tracks and dunes, a pirogue ride to meet the salt harvesters, and a ride on horseback or camelback. The options put them together in several ways:
- Discovery pack: quad, pirogue and horse or camel.
- Combined tour: 1 hour of quad and 30 minutes of pirogue.
- 4×4 ride: 1 hour, with a choice of pirogue or camel.
- Couple pack: quad (45 minutes), pirogue and camel, from 2 people.
- Flat rate for two people: 2 hours, at a flat rate.
- Half day: quad, camel, pirogue and pool.
- Full day: quad, pirogue, horse or camel, lunch and pool.
- Quad with catering and pool, for those who mainly want the quad.
The length of each activity is indicative and varies by operator: the quad lasts from 45 minutes to 1 hour, the pirogue from 15 to 30 minutes, the horse or camel from 15 to 40 minutes. The price is per person, except for the two-person flat rate. Bring a swimsuit, sun cream and something to cover up on the quad.
If you live in Senegal, it is a way to put together your afternoon in one booking, without negotiating each activity on site. If you are visiting, it is the format that best shows the lake in one outing: dunes, water and animals.
The Pink Lake, between salt and dunes
The Pink Lake, or Lake Retba, lies about thirty kilometres north-east of Dakar, between its pink-tinted salt waters and the dunes that separate it from the ocean. The Pink Lake page tells its story, and the Dakar Region gives the wider setting.
The activities one by one
Each activity in the pack has its own category: quad and buggy, the pirogue ride, the horse or camel ride and 4×4.
