Quad biking in Cap Skirring takes you through Casamance along tracks and beaches, far from the roads of the capital. Three options: a 2-hour rental, a full-day rental, or a 2-hour guided tour with transport and a guide.
Rent or be guided
Two approaches sit side by side. The rental gives you the quad for 2 hours or for the day, per unit: whoever drives chooses their own pace and route. The guided tour lasts 2 hours and includes transport and a guide, which suits you better if you are new to the area or do not want to worry about the tracks.
The ride follows the tracks and beaches of Cap Skirring. Choosing between the short half-day and the full day also means choosing how far you want to go: two hours is enough for a loop of the immediate surroundings, while the full day leaves time to push further, stop, and ride at your own pace before heading back.
Cap Skirring, more than a beach
Cap Skirring is often presented as the big seaside resort of Casamance: white sand, coconut palms, warm sea. Cap Skirring is more than its shoreline, though, and a quad lets you see it differently, through the hinterland as much as along the seafront. If you live in Senegal, it is an activity to fit into a stay on the south coast; if you are visiting, it is a way to leave the hotel and get away from the beach for the day.
Casamance is another Senegal: green, humid, slow, woven from rice paddies, gallery forests and bolongs (tidal creeks) between the mangroves. Riding a quad lets you cross it faster than on foot, without losing sight of the landscape.
Around Cap Skirring
To round off the outing, other activities in the region are within reach: a pirogue ride in the bolongs, a guided hike through the bush or between villages, or a trip to Oussouye or Kafountine. For logistics, transfers from the Cap Skirring and Ziguinchor airport make arrival simpler.
