Jet skiing in Dakar takes place in Hann Bay, with calm, sheltered waters and views over the city. Sessions from 10 minutes to 1 hour, a certified instructor, equipment provided, from age 16, no licence.

First ride or fine-tuning

The session starts with an introduction to safety and the essential moves, before you take the controls of the jet ski. Whether it is your first ride or you want to refine your technique, everyone finds their place and their pace. A certified instructor then supervises the outing. The riding is free but accompanied: the bay is sheltered and suits every level. You speed along the coast, venture into open sea, and enjoy the views of Dakar and its emblematic sites. The machines take one or two passengers. Sessions last from 10 minutes to 1 hour, with several lengths in between: 10, 20, 30 or 40 minutes, and 1 hour.

The equipment and the instructor are included. The activity is accessible from age 16, and a licence is not required for supervised sessions. Bring a swimsuit, towel, sun cream and sunglasses with a strap. Sessions run all year round, morning and afternoon.

Hann Bay, the capital’s stretch of water

Dakar is discovered through its districts and its ocean, and Hann Bay is one of its sheltered stretches of water, with the peninsula as a backdrop. If you live here, it is a weekend outing that does not mean leaving the capital; if you are visiting, a way to add some action to a day of sightseeing. After the session
