The theatre class in Saly is a 2-hour session led by a teacher of body expression and live performance, one to one or in a small group. A stage activity, in the resort, for a change from the beach.
A 2-hour session on acting
The class is given by a teacher trained in body expression and live performance. You can take it alone or with others in a small group: you choose when you book. One to one, the work focuses on a single person and follows their pace; in a small group, you act together, which changes how you relate to being watched and brings partner exercises. The session lasts two hours: enough to warm up, work on an exercise and act out a scenario without rushing. Coming from live performance and body expression, the teacher works on acting and the body as much as on the text: the session suits people who have never acted.
The price, whether for a single session or a small group, is shown in the listing’s selector.
Saly, a resort that can also become a stage
Saly is about 80 km south of Dakar, born in the 1980s around an old Serer fishing village and the port of Portudal. It has more than 10,000 beds, spread across resort hotels, private residences and villas: a passing crowd looking for something other than the beach and the seafront. A theatre class finds its place there as a stay activity, a little away from the beach, for a visitor who stays several days, or as a weekend pastime for someone who comes from Dakar. The Saly page details the resort, and the Petite Côte page gives the coastal setting.
Things to do around
To stay in the register of arts and the stage, the circus arts and shows offer other experiences, and the African dance classes or the singing and music classes round off a stay that mixes learning and leisure.
