A horse-cart ride in the Djoudj National Bird Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a guide who takes you to the watchtowers and the big lake (about 15 km). You can see jackals, warthogs, patas monkeys, flamingos, teal, wild geese and the crowned crane.
The outing takes a full day, starting from Saint-Louis; the park is about sixty kilometres to the north. The best time for migratory birds is from November to April.
