The AIBD airport transfer to Saint-Louis is a private ride with a driver between Blaise-Diagne international airport and Saint-Louis, of about 4 hours. The price is per vehicle, for 1 to 4 people, one-way or return, with the standard car, the luxury saloon or the premium van.
A long journey, no changes
Between the airport and the former capital of the North, the road is long, and the private transfer spares you from chaining connections. You are met on arrival, the journey is direct and comfortable, and the driver and the vehicle are included; drinks are not. The duration is indicative, about 4 hours, and may vary with traffic and stops. The journey takes up almost half a day, a time to plan for in your departure and arrival schedule alike.
Three options exist: the standard car, the luxury saloon and the premium van, all of about 4 hours.
If you live in Dakar and are leaving for a weekend in the North, it is a half-day trip without driving. If you are visiting, it is a way to reach Saint-Louis directly after the flight.
Saint-Louis, at the end of the journey
Saint-Louis is a former colonial capital located at the mouth of the Senegal River, facing the Atlantic, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its historic island and its architecture. The town is organised around Ndar Island, the Langue de Barbarie on the ocean side and Sor on the riverbank. The Saint-Louis region extends the scenery, and Dakar is the starting point, with the Dakar region for pick-ups on the peninsula. Saint-Louis is today a leading cultural and nature destination, where heritage, fishing, birdwatching and Sahelian atmosphere meet. It lies in the far north-west of the country, right next to the Mauritanian border, at the level of the Senegal River delta.
Around Saint-Louis
Once there, you can set off on a pirogue trip, treat yourself to a guided cultural visit of the island, or push on to the Langue de Barbarie park and Djoudj for the birds. Other intercity transfers are available to continue your trip.
