The treetop adventure in Bandia takes place in a park opposite the reserve, built around baobabs, with agility courses, zip lines and workshops. Children are welcome from age 3, right up to adults looking for thrills, and course access and supervision are included.
Courses for every age
The park is built around majestic baobabs. The courses vary in difficulty and length: from a simple introduction for the youngest to acrobatic challenges lasting several hours for adventurers. Sessions last from one hour to half a day depending on the course chosen and the pace of the group. Each circuit respects the local flora and does not harm the trees.
A team supervises every stage and looks after safety, ready to adapt the route to each person’s age and level. Every participant is fitted with approved equipment. The site also has shaded relaxation areas, picnic spots and side activities for young and old: water games, nature discovery workshops, baobab climbing.
Wear comfortable sports clothes and closed shoes, and tie back long hair. Booking is advised, especially at weekends and during school holidays.
If you live in Dakar, this is the easy family outing to fit into a weekend, one that keeps the children and the adults busy alike. If you are staying in Saly, it is an adventure activity to pair with a safari: one at canopy height, the other at ground level.
Opposite Bandia Reserve
The park is opposite Bandia Reserve, on the Petite Côte, in the Thiès region. The Bandia page brings together the activities on offer there, and the Bandia Reserve page tells the story of the reserve: 3,500 hectares of wooded savannah, 15 km from Saly and 65 km from Dakar.
Rounding it out in the region
Being so close to the reserve, you can round off the day with a safari to see giraffes, rhinos and other animals in their natural setting. You can also explore the Somone lagoon or the craft markets of the Petite Côte villages. For more family ideas, the family days and the amusement and play parks round off the week.
